London

My heart beats strongly and full of admiration whenever I’m in London. I fell in love with the city immediately since my first visit a couple of years ago. And my love for South Kensington is even bigger. Love the neighbourhood, love the people and love the restaurants. And I love even more sitting in Kensington Gardens (not to confuse with Hyde Park which overlaps with Kensington Gardens). Just watching people enjoy themselves. Walking around in between the beautiful flowers and feeling new writing ideas floating around the pond.

And yeah yeah..I know I know, there are so many more great places and corners to visit and explore in London (east side, west side, north side, no down side). Let me know what my next MUST visit must be in a comment below…planning to go back in March’18. So I need new tips.

Underneath you’ll find a few places I visited during my stay in London August’17. (less than 48hours, so I definitely go back. Soon. London never bores me 🙂).

Redemptionredemptinon.jpg

My first stop for my summer’17 holiday was London. After spending a few years apart (I needed some time to think). I decided to go back to the to the one I fell in love with; Notting Hill. Love. At. First. Sight. People 😉. And I don’t know if it was because of the movie, wanted to climb a gate by myself while saying ‘whoopsie daisy’, or the atmosphere and finding Kensington Gardens just around the corner. Thing is, I love it there. And ever since going vegan, and the hunt for restaurants with vegan options is a challenge, I ended up at Redemption after reading some great reviews. Unfortunately my phone suffered from battery breakdown throughout my whole holiday. And while eating at Redemption it was no different. Nevertheless, the food, service and atmosphere were great! They have 2 locations in London. One in Notting Hill and one in Shoreditch, and I definitely will visit one of them again. I ordered a salad and a Bombay love. Can’t remember which salad (tempel bowl?). The Bombay love drink had coconut as an ingredient, and I never forget about the coconut. Ever. When you’re in town, visit the place!

Ms. Cupcakecup

So Ms. Cupcake was a bit out of my travel area. ‘Cause 48 hours ain’t that much when you’re running around the city. Trying to see as much as possible once again. But I ran towards Ms. Cupcake after reading nothing but sweet reviews. And I was not disappointed.

As upbeat and colorful as the owner is, as colourful and beautiful the location and of course the cupcakes itself are. Seriously, look at those pictures at there website. I’m drooling all over again. So many choices. Did anyone say carrot cake, chocolate peanut butter, lemon, oreo, pumpkin spice or salted caramel? Come on, I can hear you stomach screaming for the sweetness right now. I had the red velvet, and it was as good as it looks 😋. Also, they make ‘the ambassador’ cupcake. Which is the vegan version of a lot of Ferrero Rocher but together and shaped in the vorm of a cupcake. Can you hear the angels sing? Visit the place when you’re in town. A sweetness you won’t regret, nor forget.

Orjawan

So Orjawan is the place I wanted to visit but didn’t visit. Why? Because I had just too little time. I planned my stay in London (because of my short stay). And within those 48 hours and all travel time, I couldn’t have enjoyed the lovely menu as much as I wanted too. But I’m a big fan of the Lebanese Cuisine and after reading many good reviews online, they became part of this shortlist. And my reminder I need to visit the restaurant next time I’m in London. Have you shared your dinner at Orjawan before?

The Farmacy far

The farmacy is the place to be, when you want to belong and be happy. A hipster place it might be, known by those whom are unfamiliar with a perfect vegan menu, which can be shared in a beautiful venue (rhymesly joking people✌️.) But leaving all the craziness on a stick; I loved the place. Beautiful setting and great atmosphere. Whether you’re a hipster or not. Want to explore the vegan world a bit more, or just looking for a place to have a coffee and some cake while writing and blogging..take a seat at the Farmacy. I’ll definitely visit again, hopefully with a non-broken phone for some awesome pictures!

Ps, that craziness on a stick thing..that’s a Dutch expression. Get ready for finding more while reading my blog, ’cause I love how they make no sense at all when you translate them literally 😁.

Pret a Mangerpret

If you’re looking for a quick meal while in a hurry or traveling towards your next destination, visit Pret a Manger. Located near train- and bus stations. But also to be found in the city center. The menu with vegan options is expanding, so tough call making a decision what to eat. Also, they opened a Veggie Pret a Manger popup as an experiment last year. Guess what? It became a permanent location. YES veggie love is growing! I enjoyed my red beet salad, coconut(!!) coffee, avocado wrap, coconut bar (just like a bounty), fresh ginger juice and a few other meals while staying in London, Leeds and Manchester.

You will find several locations throughout the U.K. The 3 locations I visited with Pret(ty) nice staff employees were:

Wholefoods wf.png

With several locations throughout London, you will always have a super-supermarket filled with vegan food just around the corner. When I arrived in London and got of the buss in South Kensington, I remembered my route back to the Wholefoods Kensington location immediately. Guess good places to buy snacks before searching for other places to eat are hard to forget ;). From Propercorn popcorn, cupcakes, freshly squeezed juices, to cheesecakes, ice cream, several tofu variations and a wide range of freshly made food for take out..you can find it all at Wholefoods. Perfect place to buy dinner, perfect place to buy way to many snacks to take on the plane 😉.
