Study of a girl, by the successful woman |”Hey there, good morning to you on the other side of the screen! How are you today? Did you sleep well?”

Reading Time: 3 minutes

Hey there, good morning to you on the other side of the screen!
How are you today? Did you sleep well?
Have you taken the time to wake up in a pleasant way while asking yourself the question; ‘What am I going to do today, to get the most out of the next 24 hours?’
No? Well, try to do that now. And ask yourself at the end of the day; ‘What have I done today to achieve my goals?’

The successful woman, that sounds promising doesn’t it?
Because, am I actually so successful? No, not yet. But I do have the purpose to become successful. And since it’s been an exciting journey so far, I wonder if you perhaps would like to join me? Following my journey while you follow yours.

Who and what am I? Oh, that’s not the easiest question to answer this early morning. I am Jemaine, mother of a boy named Micah, nicknamed Mike.
I have gone to school to become a makeup artist and studied Applied Psychology in the past.
My romantic soul had this idea that if people were able to feel more beautiful from the outside, they would also feel beautiful on the inside.
The second someone would become more comfortable in their own skin, they would beam with pride and show everyone else.
Long story short, I only wanted to see mentally healthy individuals walking around through the streets.
I think this describes very well who I am. I am a sometimes unrealistic idealist. IMG_1929.jpg

Besides being a unrealistic idealist, I am also a artist.
An artist whom, until now, hasn’t earned that much money with her passion and talent.
And the fault in that is entirely up to me.
I wasn’t sure about my work, nor sure if it was good enough or worth selling.
Fear of being judged and condemned by others kept me from introducing my art to the world.
But I have made a choice now. I am good enough. I am going to take risks. Invest in myself.
If I do not dare to fall, I will never be able to grow. So who’s interested in buying my art ? (😉)

To continue to push myself to move forward, and by that I mean my way of thinking, I started to listen to motivational speeches.
This while I was drawing, doing laundry, hanging up laundry and folding even more laundry (since being a single mother with a son that loves to play football, jump in puddles and so on and on and on, hands you extra time each week to listen to a podcast while doing laundry).

And I advise you to do the same. Don’t get me wrong, I didn’t liked it in the beginning either. Listening to people who told me what and what not to do in my life. But at a certain moment I got it. Through the power of repetition you hear better what they say.
And I can already tell you, by only listening to these stories, I’ve become a lot more motivated and productive.
Because we are the masters of our own brain. But not all of our thoughts are helping us move forward. Do you understand where I’m going with this story? All arguments, explanations and facts I’ve heard so far, I’ve been able to connect them with terms I learned while studying Psychology. So there’s a substantiation to it.

IMG_1724.jpgTake self fulfilling prophecy. If you think you can’t do something, you’ll never be able to. Why not? Because you already fill in that blank space, telling yourself you can’t do it. So you will never do your best.
However, if you think that you can do something, you will also achieve this. Because you will start living your life the way that’s needed and do whatever it takes to make your dreams come true.
Generally, the conditions are that it must be realistic. But at the same time, when you reach for the sun, you already end up in-between the stars.

I’ll say goodbye for now, just for a short period of time. And next time I will tell you what I am successful at, and how it ended up like that.
Take care of yourself and life live by your own values. And always remember, you are worth it!

Love xx
